Information about nutrition


                                  FOOD AND NUTRITION
FOOD:
Nutritive materials taken in the body to keep it alive and enable it to grow (nutritive means containing materials). In other words food is any solid and liquid when eaten can be digested, absorbed and used by the body to carry out one or more of the following functions:
Ø  The growth and prepare of the body tissue.
Ø  The production of energy.
Ø  The protection and regulation of body process.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is the science of food and its relation to health. In other words the study of nutrients and of their digestion, absorption, metabolism, interaction, storage and exertion. Or simply the science of foods related to optimal health and performance. We all should be interested in promoting and protecting our own health, since our happiness, capacity for rewarding work and even our length of life depend upon it. Some knowledge of the basic facts of nutrition and helpful to anyone and detailed scientific background of knowledge is essential for those who have a responsibility of feeding others and participating in health education-that is home makers, nurses, doctors, hospitals, dieticians, teachers and extension workers in the field of nutrition. Public health workers and managers public eating places and school lunch rooms. Without adequate nutrition no country can be expect to achieve the national vigor essential for continued development and economic social and political stability. More over all though proper nutrition provides and essential basis for health, good health also depends on many other factors. Factors of heredity, disease, environment, stress and emotional instability may counter balance the effect of good died.
