Plant anatomy: The study of gross internal structure of plant organ as seen in a section is called plant anatomy (ana- asunder, temnein- to cut).
Histology: The study of the detailed structure of tissues making up a particular organ is called histology (Histos- tissues).
Cytology: The study of the cell structure with special reference to the behaviour of the nucleus is called cytology (Kytos- cell).
Cell: Cells are the fundamental structural and functional unit of plant body.
Cells can be defined as a protoplast with or without non-living envelope- the cell wall and consisting of a protoplasmic components and non- protoplasmic materials.
